Joanna Bonnick
Let me introduce myself. I qualified from Bristol Dental Hospital in 2001 and initially completed 2 years of GPT before moving into the hospital sector and completing the MFDS RCS (Eng). I spent 18 months doing Maxillofacial Surgery and 2 years overall doing residential on-call duties. I went on to complete three years of specialist training in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. I set up the website in 2003 whilst I was an SHO at Bath RUH. The website was first launched in February 2004 and converted into a wiki in March 2009. It continues to be updated regularly with new ideas and information by the contributors listed below. Without their hard work and input the website would be impossible to maintain.
Anna Dargue
The Oral Medicine, Anatomy revision and Steroid Cover Protocol sections have recently been updated by Anna Dargue. Anna graduated from Bristol in 2001. She then spent a year as a VT in Cornwall and two years as a Maxillofacial SHO in Exeter — which she loved! She is now working as a Staff Grade in Oral Surgery in Bristol, and hopes to make her career in this aspect of dentistry.
Carla Fleming
Carla is currently an SHO at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport. After graduating in Bristol in 2005 and living in New Zealand for a year, she spent time as a Maxillofacial SHO in Frenchay and Southmead Hospitals in Bristol before working in Newport. Carla hopes to pursue a career in the field of Oral Surgery.
Paroo Mistry has contributed Life as an Oral and Maxillofacial SHO.
Ellen Fingleton has also contributed to the website and was involved in the early development of the site.
Also, a very big thank you to my husband Jonathan for all his help and support with the technical side of things! x
