Clinical Features

1. Flattened cheek prominence

2. Swelling and bruising over cheek

3. Step deformity

4. Peri-orbital ecchymosis

5. Subconjunctival haemorrhage

6. Para/anaesthesia of infra-orbital nerve

7. Trismus and restricted lateral excursion

8. Para/anaesthesia of Z-Facial/Temporal nerves

9. Epistaxis

 

Radiographs

  • Occipitometal 15 and 30 degrees
  • Submentovertex
  • CT scans

 

Radiographic features

1. Step at infra-orbital margin

2. Separation at F-Z suture

3. Fracture at arch

4. Fracture at buttress

5. Fluid level in antrum

6. Reduced distance between coronoid process and body of zygoma
